I I'm your host Claudia von Boeselager, Peak performance coach, longevity expert, biohacker and more. And today I'm kicking off a special multi part solo series on a topic that's become both deeply personal and professionally essential to me. Brain Health and Mental optimization. So why has brain health become my mission? Well, the journey started with my mother. She was warm, intelligent, vibrant, the kind of person that really lit up a room. But then slowly, subtle changes started to show. She began repeating stories, forgetting details, incessantly writing things down, losing confidence in situation that used to be second nature, cumulating in head trauma incident that really expedited her decline.

At first we initially chalked it up as, you know, normal aging. But eventually the signs became undeniable. She had cognitive decline. Watching someone you love fade away, losing their joy, their vitality, their love of life, their clarity, even parts of their identity. It isn't just heartbreaking, it's destabilizing for everyone around them and causes so much suffering for me, for my father, my rest of my family. It was really painful, confusing and filled with uncle unanswered questions. Why aren't we talking more about prevention? And countless medical professionals we had spoken to didn't pick it up on time and just wrote it off as unpreventable. And the question is, you know, why do we wait until it's too late to take brain health seriously? And most importantly, what can be done? And that really put fire in me.

It sent me into the science, it inspired my work on this podcast and it's what led me to interview some of the world's most brilliant minds in neuroscience, longevity and mental well, wellness such as Dr. Dale Bredesen on reversing Alzheimer's and cognitive decline.
