Welcome to the Longevity and Lifestyle Podcast L&L Quick Tips series. I'm Claudia von Boeselager, your host here to share a quick tip on all things life and health optimization for you to be at your best.

In today's episode, we're going to look at why you don't need to fear failure.

It's the time of year when many of us take the time out for reflection on the year past and set goals for the year to come. I wanted to share a little reminder that is one of, if not the most critical thing to work on each day, and it's your mindset.

What is mindset? Well, it's the set of beliefs we have often said in childhood and continued into adulthood, unless we actively work to upgrade it.

It's so important to listen to your self-talk. Are you beating yourself up for making mistakes? Or if a call with a prospect client goes badly, how do you react? What else are you beating yourself up about? Instead, know you have to be your biggest cheerleader. Full stop. You have to pick yourself back up when you get knocked down.
Don't let anyone or anything get in the way of your dreams.

Life is a marathon, not a sprint. You will face challenging times when you want to give up. We all get imposter syndrome. I'm yet to meet a successful person who hasn't failed over and over again, but they keep going and that's why they succeed.

Everyone experiences fear, but do they let it stop them? No.

Do you know how many times it took Edison to invent electricity? Over 1000 times of not getting it right. That's , what I call tenacity. How many times did Walt Disney get rejected from banks before getting a loan? 302 times. Oprah Winfrey was fired from her job as an evening news reporter because she was in quotes ''Unfit for television news''.

Did she give up ? No, she did not. Michael Jordan missed more than 9,000 shots in his career. The list goes on and on. So never let fear of mistakes or rejection hold you back.

Never let fear stop you from doing what it is you know you need to do to achieve your dreams. Face the fear and push through. What you want is on the other side.
See fear instead as your opportunity to expand out of your comfort zone and grow. That's the difference between those who succeed and those who give up. The more you do it, the more the muscle grows.

So choose to be the one who succeeds. As Nike says, 'So well just do it.'
