PODCAST EPISODE TRANSCRIPT

Welcome, dearest Longevity & Lifestyle family to another episode of the Longevity & Lifestyle Podcast. I'm your host, Claudia von Boeselager, and today as we come to a close of another year, I wanted to help you finish the year with the bang and walk you through how you can make 2023 the best one yet.

This is an exercise that I do each year, and I refine it each year as I go along. When you review the past year, it's so important to celebrate the wins and learn from the challenges in order to make the next year even better.

Looking ahead to the new year, defining our goals allows us to achieve them faster, so get ready to dream big and make 2023 an unforgettable year for you.

So let's jump in. Firstly, let's look at why it's so important to take the time to reflect and plan. Reflection on the past year is essential for several reasons. It makes you remember your wins and how you got there. It also allows you to define your challenges and the key learnings you gained along the way.

This reflection brings lots of learnings, goodies, if you will, that you can add to your toolbox so that you have them at your disposal for any challenges that come your way.

In addition, here at Longevity & Lifestyle, we wanted to make sure that your reflection process and setting your goals for the new year was a huge success. So we've created a free bonus success workbook you can use to write down your learnings and create an even bigger impact.

You can grab yours free by going to longevity-and-lifestyle.com/newyear.
In the Success Workbook, you'll also find a further two bonuses as a little thank you for being part of the Longevity & Lifestyle family.

So step one, reflection. This is super important, so please don't miss this step.
Our lives can run at such a fast pace. We forget to take the time to stop, reflect, and learn from what we've done and celebrate the wins. As I've spoken about before, we want to rewire those neural pathways to look for what's good in life, which leads to a happier and healthier life for longer.

So what should you do first? One, go back through your year 2022. I go through my calendar week by week. W rite down your wins big and small. Writing them down will help you to internalize your reflections and have a better self-understanding. You're welcome of course, to use the success workbook that we created for you for this by going to longevity-and-lifestyle.com/newyear.

Next, reflect on your wins that you've written down and really celebrate them. Appreciate the effort that you put in and what you have achieved. Not only does this feel great, but it trains those neural pathways to focus on the successes. And remember, cells that fire together, wire together. This is key to creating a happier and healthier life.

Then I'd like you to write down and reflect on what your biggest challenges were from the year.

Know that these are the areas for learning and growth, which we as humans need to become better, stronger, and more resilient.

Step number two, analyze. Here are my six questions to help analyze and uncover your learnings from the past year. This is a chance for you to ask yourself all those tough questions.

And again, you're welcome to use the success workbook we created for you by going to longevity-and-lifestyle.com/newyear.

Question one, what were the best moments in 2022? How did they make you feel and what did you learn from them?

Question two, what were your five biggest challenges in 2022? Why did you find them challenging? And it's good to get really clear on this. How did you overcome them? What were the capabilities, actions, or otherwise that helped you turn your challenge into an opportunity for growth?

Question three. What were your biggest learnings in 2022?

Question four, what were the relationships and activities that gave you the most joy?

Question five, what were the relationships and activities that gave you the least joy?

Question six, what were the relationships and activities that occupied most of your time?

By understanding this, it will help you decide if you're investing your time in the people and activities that matter most to you or not.

If they're not, know that learning to say no is key to allow you to free up time to focus on what you want and love. For this, you need to figure out how can the energy draining activities, people, and commitments that are most time consuming be otherwise handled in the coming year? Can you delegate them? Can you cut them down or out completely?

Maybe it's a time consuming, repetitive work task that doesn't add much value to your business or a household chore that someone else at home could help with.

Also consider batching activities for weeks out at a time, which will help you to free up time and focus on more important, enriching and value adding activities that will bring you closer to your goals in the new year.

Step number three, getting clear. It's now time to look ahead after all this reflection and get clear on what would make 2023 your perfect year yet.
Again, you're welcome to use our success workbook that we created for you for this by going to longevity-and-lifestyle.com/newyear.
So write out in full length with a pen and paper, ideally because it stimulates greater brain activity and allows intuition to flow.
Write out number one, what do you want to get better at in the new year in your personal life, in your business and career, in your relationships, and in your personal growth? How do you wanna grow this year?
Number two, look at what fears might be holding you back that you need to overcome.
We've included in the Success Workbook, a great exercise from Tim Ferris on this.
Next, what are you committing to do more of in 2023?

And then what are you committing to not do anymore in 2023? Get specific on what you need to move on from in the new year. What you need to let go, what you need to commit to not doing anymore that you know is not serving you. This is a good opportunity to write it down and get that clarity.

Once you've done that, then get really specific on your why.

You see, by having a clear purpose and emotion behind your goal, it gives you greater momentum to achieve your goals faster. Get clear on your why and write them all down.

Next. Also, get clear on what you need to achieve your goals. What are the skills, the time commitment, the daily and weekly schedule that you will need in order to achieve the goal.

And finally set a deadline by when you would like to achieve each goal. What are the steps and the milestones that will help you get there?

I wanted to also include five pro steps for you to think about when scheduling your priorities in the new year.

Number one, book the time for your self-care and time for family and friends, trips and events, first. Put it in the calendar first. It will ensure you're taking care of yourself and it will give you something to look forward to with those you love.

As they say on the airplane, you have to put your oxygen mask on first before helping others. So make sure this year includes you taking care of yourself.

Number two, create your daily and weekly routines for success.

Number three, set yourself up for success by scheduling the tasks and activities in your calendar so you don't forget them. They don't go by the wayside. They're just in your calendar and set already.

Number four, plan for check-ins on your goals be it weekly, biweekly, or at least monthly to see if you're on track, if anything is off and why, and what can be corrected as well.

And finally, you can then adjust your weekly schedule and calendar according to what works and what isn't working as you go along.

As the Wise Buddha once said, no matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

So make sure to grab your free success workbook to create an even bigger impact on your annual review and new year planning by going to longevity-and-lifestyle.com/newyear.

And please enjoy the two bonuses as a thank you for being part of the Longevity & Lifestyle family.

Have a wonderful holiday season, my dear audience, I am so grateful for you and your support.

It is my greatest pleasure and honor to continue to serve you in the upcoming year and beyond. So as always, reach out if you have any questions.

I wish you and your loved ones, lots of joy, success, and most importantly, health for the new year. Till next time.
